Safe through the winter with a snow guard system S-5!® ColorGard® 2.0 and RoofTech single or double pipe brackets

S-5!® ColorGard® 2.0 and
RoofTech single or double pipe bracket snow guard systems

In regions with high snow loads, on roofs with steep slopes or in front of solar panels, an extra high snow guard is necessary and often locally required to keep the snow safely on the roof.
The proven snow guard system S‑5!® ColorGard® 2.0 and the snow guard with the RoofTech single and double pipe holders rely on the high holding forces of the S‑5!® standing seam clamps. This allows flexible use on all common standing seam roofs and also combinations with each other. They differ from other snow guards on the market due to their simple, flexible installation, high holding forces and attractive appearance.

A professional snow guard should prevent snow and ice from falling from the roof onto people, vehicles and other objects. According to country-specific regulations, e.g. in Germany according to DIN EN 1991–1‑3, the state building regulations and municipal regulations, snow guard systems are required for roofs on traffic areas and above entrances.

As part of the duty of care, the homeowner is liable for roof and ice avalanches and must therefore ensure that his roof is secured in this regard.
The design and construction of a snow guard system depends, among other things, on the location, the use and position of the building as well as the roof shape and slope.

Basics on snow retention systems:

RoofTech and S‑5!® Metal Roof Innovations Ltd. We generally recommend that the planned installation and the dimensioning of the snow guard be checked by a qualified specialist.

Please note:
Relevant building regulations and rules
standards and technical rules
Local factors & snow and wind loads
loads of installation & statics
Installation, planning and construction on metal roofs

The decision on whether to install a snow guard system ultimately always lies with the builder or homeowner. If there are official regulations, these must be taken into account. The snow guard system is designed to prevent the shear effect and the sliding of snow lying on the roof by means of one or more rows of snow guards. To prevent ice or snow from slipping, additional ice stoppers should be installed between the rail or pipe and the roof covering.

The following are decisive for the dimensioning and number of snow guard rows and their fastening on standing seam roofs:
location of the building (snow load zone)
altitude of the terrain above sea level
roof shape & roof pitch
rafter length/panel length
length of the eaves
rebate spacing or panel width
holding forces of the standing seam clamps

Advantages of our snow guard systems:

  • Easy construction and attractive appearance.
  • Few system parts saves time during assembly.
  • Penetration-free installation.
  • Very high load capacity by mounting on the S‑5!® clamps.
  • Free sliding of the pipe in the holder: No constraints across the fold.
  • Also one Sloping installation is easy to implement.
