The following proven snow guard systems S‑5!® ColorGard and RoofTech single and double pipe rely on the high holding forces of the S‑5!® standing seam clamps. This allows flexible use on all common standing seam roofs and also combinations with each other. They differ from other snow guards on the market due to their simple, flexible installation, high holding forces and attractive appearance.

S‑5!® ColorGard® – the snow guard in the color of the metal roof

With S‑5!® ColorGard, there is no need for complex and expensive powder coating, as is the case with conventional snow guards.
Mounted with the S‑5!®-Clamps can absorb significantly higher forces than snow guards with conventional jaw clamps. This means that fewer rows are often required for the snow guard - which makes ColorGard very economical.
The S‑5! ColorGard snow guard on double standing seam. Can also be mounted at an angle using the VersaClip holder.
The colour unity with the roof is achieved by inserting a metal strip of the covering into the snow guard rail.

The decision on whether to install a snow guard system depends on the use and location of the building and ultimately always lies with the builder or homeowner. If there are official regulations, these must be taken into account. The snow guard system is designed to prevent the shearing effect of the snow lying on the roof across the entire area by means of one or more rows of snow guards. In Germany, the design and dimensioning of the snow guard system must be carried out in advance by a professional in accordance with DIN EN 1991-Eurocode 1–3: “Actions on structures – Snow loads” (in Austria according to ÖNORM B 1991–1‑3:2006–04-01, in Switzerland SIA 261:2003 applies). They are valid up to altitudes of 1500 m. Altitudes above this are regulated by special national regulations.

RoofTech and S‑5! recommend that the planned installation and the design of the snow guard be reviewed by a qualified professional who is responsible for the correct application of the relevant building codes, standards, technical rules and local factors, snow and wind loads, the loads of the installation, the statics and assembly as well as the planning and construction of and on metal roofs.

With very few exceptions, the load-bearing capacity of each individual S‑5!® clamp is greater than the load-bearing capacity of the roof panels or profile sheets and their fastening to the supporting structure. This applies not only to the normal clamps but also to the S‑5!® mini clamps. Therefore, the weak points are usually not the clamps, but the roof covering and its fastening.

Depending on the use of the respective S‑5!® clamp, it must be ensured that the forces transferred from the clamp to the seam can be absorbed by the seam or by the supporting structure. In particular, the snow and wind loads, the additional loads from the installations attached to the clamps, as well as the increased stresses in the edge and corner areas of the roof structure must be taken into account. A sufficient number of clamps must be provided. For statically relevant clamps, a distance of at least 500 mm from the end of the standing seam profile must be maintained.

The respective installation instructions do not release the executing company from the obligation to clarify the possible uses and application of our products, also in connection with the other materials used, on the individual object in advance.
